Kuala Selangor
Apr. 3, 2007 - Apr. 4, 2007
83km from Kuala Lumpur to Selangor. Stayed at a 30 Ringgit ($10) hotel with shared toilets/showers. Very clean place. Not much to the town.
8) Kuala Selangor, Malaysia > Teluk Intan, Malaysia 104km
Teluk Intan
Apr. , 2007 - Apr. 5, 2007
104km from Kuala Selangor to Teluk Intan. Mid-sized town with a nice hotel near a supermarket and Pizza Hut.
9) Teluk Intan, Malaysia > Taiping, Malaysia 155km
Taiping
Apr. 5 - Apr. 6, 2007
155km from Teluk Intan to Taiping. There were shorter routes, but with lots of hills. The entire day was cloudy, so that helped keep me cool. Nice town with mountains to one side.
10) Taiping, Malaysia > Butterworth, Malaysia 92km
Butterworth
Apr. 6 - Apr. 7, 2007
92km from Taiping to Butterworth. Travel Lodge is 1km from the ferry terminal. Good rooms, but bad restaurant. Caught the 7:00 ferry to Penang, then the 8:15 ferry to Langkaui. Had expected to stay a week in Langkaui, but every hotel was full (there are a lot of hotels). Caught the 12:30 ferry to Satun, Thailand. 980km from downtown Singapore to Butterworth.
Total Singapore & Malaysia riding 986km (612.6 miles)
Just a quick note to let you know I'm still here. I'll type more later.

Hi Rick,
Glad you checked in.
What do you think about when you ride. Do you ponder great philosophical questions? Do you focus on the here and now, every movement, every sensation?
My own life is busy running on the giant hamster wheel of life. I bought a 35 acre farm in Roseburg Oregon. It's beautiful, I think I can grow grapes or maybe fruit trees, but I can barely afford the move I just made. So I run faster and faster trying to pay the bills, spend time with the family, stay in shape, and put out the multitude of fires that keep popping up. If there was just time to breathe; but it will be okay I'll plant an acre of cherry trees and they'll bloom in the early spring and maybe an acre of red plums and apricots. That will just leave me with 33 more acres to finish, but when you're done riding in asia you can come and visit. The trees should be well grown by them and profuse with flowers and fruit.

Hey Homey
Your last line was over 2 weeks ago. How about updating those on the whitebread and mayo homefront.
